FAQ - Frequently asked questions about ZusammenSpiel

For musicians

No! You don't need any musical training and you don't need to be able to read music. A little sense of rhythm helps, but the most important thing is to enjoy the music and want to be part of it.

All instruments are welcome - whether violin, trumpet, guitar, percussion or something completely different. Especially nice: instruments from your own culture are expressly welcome!

Yes, depending on availability, we can provide you with a rental instrument. Please indicate this in your application so that we can plan this in good time.

We look forward to welcoming you to our orchestra from the age of 16. For reasons of youth protection, we are unfortunately unable to accept younger participants at present - but please get in touch and we may be able to find a solution together.

The main language is German. But don't worry: we speak many languages in the team and are happy to support you!

From autumn 2025, we are planning regular, probably fortnightly rehearsals - usually in the early evening or at weekends. We will coordinate the exact schedule with the group.

No, participation is free of charge. However, if you would like to support us financially, we would be delighted to hear from you.

For music teachers

We look forward to welcoming people who want to contribute their knowledge and experience: in workshops, as facilitators or in dialogue with participants. You can become part of our team as a volunteer - or, depending on the task and responsibility, as an honorary employee. We will discuss this with you individually.

We would like to work with you to find out how you can get involved - whether just in individual workshops or as part of our team in the long term. Perhaps you will also come up with new ideas on how we can make music education even more diverse.

For schools, music schools & educational institutions

We look forward to developing creative approaches together with schools, music schools, youth centres and other educational institutions. Together, we can reach interested young people and young adults, initiate projects and enable new musical experiences.

Joint performances, exchange formats or even entire project weeks are possible. Music schools can also support us in finding participants or help us with instrument hire. We look forward to developing and realising new ideas together.

No, ZusammenSpiel is open to all young people aged 16 and over who enjoy music - whether beginners or advanced.

For organisations & initiatives in the field of integration & participation

We are happy to cooperate with initiatives that are committed to integration, participation or diversity. Together, we can approach, encourage and support people from your networks so that they can become part of the orchestra.

We would like to work with you on a long-term basis: Connecting people, planning joint activities or realising creative projects. We are open to new ideas and look forward to shaping the future together.

We help participants with openness, patience and a multilingual team. Nobody has to speak perfect German to take part. Instruments can also be provided on loan by arrangement.

For event organisers

We are looking for partners who would like to organise concerts, action days or other events with us. Whether it's a festival, city festival, cultural programme or something completely new - we want to work with you to develop exciting formats that move people.

We bring an intercultural improvisation orchestra to the stage that is lively, touching and unifying. Workshops, hands-on activities and dialogue formats are also suitable. Let's see together what suits your event - maybe it will even lead to a longer-term collaboration.

Write to us at jochen@kultur-karawane.de or give us a call! We look forward to getting to know you and developing ideas for the future together.

For supporters

We welcome people who would like to support us with their time, knowledge or financial help. You can lend a hand at events, contribute your expertise or help us with the organisation.

Perhaps you have a special skill or a network that can help us. Perhaps you would like to become part of our circle of supporters in the longer term. We look forward to finding out together how your commitment can make a difference.

Yes! ZusammenSpiel is a non-profit project that welcomes donations, partnerships and sponsorship. Any support helps us to have a long-term impact and reach even more people.
