ZusammenSpiel is a new music project in Trier. It brings together people with very different stories: Some were born here, some have lived in Germany for a long time, some have only recently arrived here.
What counts here is not where you come from or what language you speak. What counts here is that we meet each other - with openness, curiosity and a love of music. We improvise together, discover new sounds and grow together into a colourful, lively community.
You don't need to be able to read music. You don't need any musical training. All you need to bring is a passion for music, a love of shared experiences and a willingness to embrace new things.
Our aim is to build bridges: create trust through music, celebrate diversity through shared experiences and build a strong community through commitment.
We warmly invite you to become part of this special orchestra. Because music unites - and anyone can join in!
"When everyone is included, everyone wins."
Since 2014, the Kulturkarawane has been creating colourful cultural and meeting spaces for all people. Music is our common language. It brings people together, makes diversity visible and shows Together we can achieve more.
In 2023, we made a strong statement with the Berlin Stegreif Orchestra and the Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung Trier. As part of #bechange, an improvisation project was created that united 25 enthusiastic people from 11 nations. For four days, they tried things out, made music, laughed and created something new - fuelled by the joy of shared experience.
ZusammenSpiel is the continuation of this experience. It combines openness, diversity and co-creation and invites everyone to become part of a musical adventure that builds bridges - between people, cultures and stories.
In January and February, we will try out new repertoire and further develop our common language of improvisation - with people from many cultural contexts. At the same time, we prepare our concert year, plan our first performances and organise small tours through the city and country. We are particularly pleased to welcome new members who enrich our orchestra.
In March, we are working intensively with the Stegreif Orchestra from Berlin. In a joint workshop, we will deepen our artistic practice and get to know new ways of improvising Zusammenspiel. This gives rise to initial ideas and musical approaches for joint concerts.
On 12 April we will be playing at the Melodica Festival in Trier. This concert marks an important milestone - we will be showing what we have created over the past few months.
On 2 May we will join members of the Stegreif Orchestra to perform at the opening of the Kultursommer Rheinland-Pfalz in Kaiserslautern. In addition to an intercultural improvisation workshop, we are organising a large flash mob and performing at the official reception.
On 21 May, we will be represented at the Day of Cultural Diversity in Trier's Palastgarten. There, we invite everyone to get active, try out instruments and improvise with us.
In the summer months June and July, we are still on the move: We rehearse, play smaller concerts and jam sessions and explore new places for ZusammenSpiel. Our aim is to reach people and create new spaces for encounters.
We have a special highlight on 6 August 2026. We will play our biggest concert to date as part of the mosel music festival - together with the Stegreif Orchestra at the Eventum in Wittlich.
In autumn, i.e. in September and October, we are planning further open meeting formats in the region. We would like to take our idea of intercultural improvisation to new places - for example to initial reception centres, schools or music schools. Many things are possible, and we cordially invite you to become a part of it.
In the months of November and December, we take a step back. We reflect on the past year, plan the next steps and work on new collaborations for 2027.
More concert and workshop announcements will follow in the course of the year.
ZusammenSpiel! thrives on encounters, openness and joint creation.
We look forward to everything that is created - and to all the people who join us on this journey.
From 2027, we want to reach even more people: A children's and youth improvisation ensemble is to be created to enable young people to participate creatively - regardless of their background or previous knowledge. ZusammenSpiel will thus become a movement that celebrates diversity, music and growing together.
The orchestra is aimed at the following people:
We are ZusammenSpiel, an orchestra for everyone to join in. People from different backgrounds, cultures and languages make music with us.
Music connects us. Everyone should be able to join in with us – with or without disabilities, with or without migration experience.
We make music together.
We improvise a lot: we listen to each other, try out sounds and create music together.
